All you do is spray water from a hose.
In all the years, we have cleaned windows using water-fed poles. We do get this statement come up quite a few times. It’s generally because our customer hasn’t been educated about water-fed poles. If a customer doesn’t understand the method we use to clean windows, it could seem like we have sent an employee in to scrub your windows with a brush and then spray them off with tap water, leaving you feeling cheated and disappointed.
Firstly let us explain that we haven’t cheated you out of your hard-earned money. We use an ultra-pure water system that will leave your windows looking clean and, more importantly, your windows will be cleaner for longer.
At our base in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, we have a big 10000-litre water tank. This tank is filled every day with 000PPM laboratory-grade deionised water.
We invested in an extensive, high-output purification water system a few years ago. This system can produce over 20000 litres of ultra-pure water every 24 hours. This means we have ample water to provide our fleet of window cleaning vans every day.
The way a purification window cleaning system works is that because there is no hardness in the water when your windows are cleaned and left to dry, they dry crystal clear.
We could go into the science of deionised water but we will keep this explanation simple because, let’s face it. You may want clean windows and not a science lesson.
The simplest way we can describe our system would be this if you were to clean your car with tap water and not dry it after. You would be left with bodywork and glass covered in white spots. These are mineral deposits. It’s all the hardness of the water, not dissolving. If you were to clean your car with our purified water, your vehicle would dry crystal clear. Deionised water can be found in car washes and used as a final rinse in many drive-through car washes.
It’s the same principle as your windows. Once we have cleaned all your frames and glass, once the water is dried, it will all dissolve into nothing, meaning crystal clear windows.
Sometimes you may not get good results, but that isn’t down to the process; that would be either operator error or the water needs to be ultra-pure. We hope that isn’t the case when using us, but rest assured, if for any reason you have a problem, please contact us. We will be straight out to inspect the windows and rectify them if needed. Thankfully for the thousands and thousands of customers, we clean each month, this doesn’t happen often.
There are a few advantages of using a water-fed pole system to clean windows. The first one is safety. Scaling ladders at all kinds of weird and wonderful angles all day, every day, can put the window cleaner at serious risk of doing himself a severe injury. No job is worth risking your health for, especially when there is a far more safer method you could use.
The other advantage of using an ultra-pure water system is that once we have cleaned and maintained your windows each month to ensure they don’t become dirty, your windows stay cleaner longer. You add a sticky film to the window when you use a spray and a cloth or detergent in a bucket to use a mop and blade method. They look great when first cleaned. But within a short time, dust will stick to the window, leaving them less than perfect in a short time.
Another advantage of using a pure water window cleaning system is that we can work through the rain. It’s ok if you see our vans out in moderate rain; we haven’t gone crazy! We can work through it. The reason is that rainwater is an excellent state of pure water. If you catch and test it, the TDS is very low, like our pure water system.
Of course, we wouldn’t be waving carbon fibre poles around in lightning conditions or cleaning our windows when we have strong winds and rain, as the dirt in the atmosphere would most likely attach itself in some way to either your windows or frames.
Nonetheless, it is an old-age myth that window cleaners cannot work in the rain, as our systems work well in rainy conditions.
